We received a call from a general contractor who was "pulling his hair out." He had inherited a project that had not been running smoothly. On the third floor the concrete slabs had been rained out, there were deep boot imprints in the concrete and where the concrete joined the top of the steel staircase that was a 2" gap plus the concrete floor was 3" lower than the top step.
By grinding and patching the concrete we were able to create a smooth surface that would successfully accept carpet. We constructed a styrofoam dam between the steel staircase and the concrete floor and poured self levelling cement to fill in the 2" gap and provide a level transition from the stairs to the floor.
