 There are many options available when considering a decorative concrete floor; this can be quite confusing and overwhelming, taking time to fully understand what options are available is critical, it is also important to ensure the selected process is suited to the intended use of the floor.We use the best quality products available and always produce samples to ensure you know exactly what you are getting.
Acid Stain Floors
Acid staining is one of the most popular decorative effects for concrete floors, driveways, patios, walkways, pool decks, and more.
Acid stains work by penetrating the surface and reacting chemically with the lime (calcium hydroxide) in concrete. The acid in the stain lightly etches the surface, allowing the metallic salts to penetrate more easily. Once the stain reacts, it becomes a permanent part of the concrete and won't fade, chip, or peel. A high performance sealer is applied to enhance the colour and durability.
Stains are available in subtle earth tones, soft pastels or vivid reds, oranges, yellows, and purples.
Dyes
We use a wide range of topical concrete dyes to produce rich earth tone colors to transform the look of concrete. These palettes of colors can be blended to produce beautiful blends in contrast. We are able to custom match colors of dyes if required.
 Wear Surface Options
Once the decorative concrete floor is installed and ready for finishing, there are a few options available from a solvent based urethane to a water based epoxy sealer, to a solvent based high solids epoxy. Each product has its own characteristcs and will affect the look of the final floor. This image shows how water based and solvent based finishes affect the color. The concrete shown is one color. On the left hand side is a water based sealer and on the right hand side is a solvent based sealer. It is also important to ensure the intended use is suited to the final floor finish. Before any work is started this important issue will have been thoroughly covered and samples provided displaying the 'look' of each option.
Surface Profile Options
 Patterned or stamped concrete is concrete that is designed to resemble tile, brick, slate, flagstone or stone, is most often used for walkways, patios, pool decks, driveways and entranceways.
It is significantly less expensive to create the look of these materials with concrete than to use brick or tile or stone. Concrete is also much easier to install because it’s possible to flow and harden it into a consistently level surface.
Concrete makes it easy to achieve a very natural, authentic look and surface profiles of other materials.
Diamond Polished Floor creates textured finishes for new or existing concrete flooring. The advantage of texture on floor, in addition to it’s decorative appeal, is that it helps to create a non-wearing, non-slip surface – ideal for areas that will see a lot of moisture and pedestrian traffic (ie.: pool decks, garden walkways).
